Stars Out

Stars Out is a youth band made up of current participants and recent alumni of the Rebel Song Academy, a program funded by the nonprofit Art As Mentorship. Rooted in Kansas City, Stars Out shines a spotlight on the city’s rich and influential musical legacy by celebrating the past and present artists, songwriters, and producers who call KC home.

Beyond performance, Art As mentorship provides meaningful, hands-on experiences that reveal the real processes behind creative careers. Through mentorship and practice, Stars Out shows young artists that creativity is not just passion—it’s possibility, and that sustainable, paid careers in the arts are within reach.

Also featuring The Soul Agenda, a young buzzing local KC band fresh off winning the Farmers Ball Battle of the bands and forming by way of Rebel Song Academy. These talented young musicians will bring the soul, funk, and hip-hop vibes!
